When a sporting event brings together more than 1,300 participants, fills the city’s accommodation capacity and attracts more than 220 local runners, it is no longer simply a race. It becomes an event that makes a difference to the community. That is exactly what the 46th edition of the Sombor Half Marathon demonstrated.
On Sunday, May 17, the 46th Sombor Half Marathon took place – the oldest half marathon in Serbia and the recipient of the “Best of Vojvodina” quality label, making it the first and only event in the city of Sombor to hold this distinction.
Records were also set for both the number of registered participants and the number of runners who started the race. Sombor was full of visitors from all over the world on both Saturday and Sunday, and it was wonderful to see such an atmosphere throughout the city. Accommodation and hospitality venues, as well as cultural and other institutions, were filled with guests – further demonstrating that the Sombor Half Marathon has become one of the city’s strongest ambassadors.
